1. Mohammed Bello

In 1781, Usman dan Fodio’s fourth wife, Hauwa or Inna Garka, gave birth to Muhammed Bello. From 1804 until the family and several followers were deported, he participated in studies guided by his father at Degel. His father, Bello, founded Sokoto in 1809, which became the main hub for Hausa’s conquest during the Fulani War (1804-1810).

Many of his siblings excelled academically and became well-known for their efforts. Nana Asma’u, a poet and teacher, and Abu Bakr Atiku, who would succeed him as Sultan, were two of the most notable.

2.  Abu Ibrahim (Nigerian politician)

Abu Ibrahim is one of the richest men in Katsina State, he was elected senator for the Katsina South (Funtua) constituency in April 2003 on the platform of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP). He served one term, from April 2003 to May 2007. In April 2011, he was re-elected to the same seat. Before entering politics, Ibrahim worked in the federal civil service.

His high school diploma was awarded to him by the Government College in Keffi, where he attended. The Kaduna State civil service hired him after he graduated from Ahmadu Bello University in 2009. He was hired as an assistant secretary in the governor’s office.

A government worker in the governor’s office for many years, he also studied economics abroad, earning a diploma in economic planning and a graduate degree. When he was working in the governor’s office in the late 1970s, he championed the creation of a state housing corporation as a way for the government to solve social-economic problems, such as housing. Ibrahim was appointed FCDA’s Director of Administration in 1979 when the Federal Capital Development Authority moved its operations from Lagos to Suleja.

3. Amina Lawal

Amina Lawal Kurami, born in 1972, is a Nigerian actress, singer, and writer. a sharia court in Funtua in the northern Nigerian state of Katsina sentenced her to death by stoning after she committed adultery and had an unmarried child in 2002. Without DNA tests, the court ruled that the man she named as the father of the child was not convicted due to a lack of evidence.

An international uproar erupted following Lawal’s conviction. Sharia Court of Appeal overturned it, ruling that it breached Islamic law. She later remarried after the ruling was reversed.

4. Bello Mandiya

As a member of the All Progressives Congress, Bello Mandiya was elected senator for the Katsina South Senatorial District in the February 2019 Nigerian general elections (APC). Aminu Bello Masari’s former chief of staff served as governor of Katsina State.

Dahiru Mangal is one of the wealthiest people in Katsina State, he was born in Katsina to Alhaji Barau Mangal’s family. A native of Katsina, Alhaji Bashir Barau Mangal grew up there with his four brothers and two sisters. Hajiya Zulai Barau Mangal and Hajiya Yar Goje were also raised by Hajiya Murjanatu Barau Mangal. Later, he became a truck driver, and eventually bought his own automobile to use as a taxicab.

6. Mannir Yakubu

Born in katsina, he attended Rafindadi Elementary School in 1961. Whilst at Barewa College Zaria, he completed his WASC. Ahmadu Bello University awarded him a second-class upper degree in surveying, and he graduated with honors in that field.

7. Aminu Bello Masari

Aminu Bello, Masari, also among the richest men in Katsina State, During the 2011 election, Masari ran on the platform of the disbanded Congress for Progressive Change. Ibrahim Shehu Shema of the PDP defeated him in the election. After announcing his candidacy for governor in December 2014, he won the March 2015 election.

Musa Nashuni was defeated by Aminu Bello in the Katsina State Governorship election on April 11, 2015. As of 29 May 2015, Aminu Bello Masari was sworn in as Katsina State’s Executive Governor.

8. Magaji Muhammed

9. Aliyu Musa

He is a member of the Nigerian House of Representatives and was born on December 1, 1957. In 1999, he was elected to the Katsina State House of Assembly as a member of the People’s Democratic Party.

Musa earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and History from Ahmadu Bello University. He has two children and is married.
